Badminton Ontario (BOn), our Provincial Sports Organization has instituted PlayerWeb. This is a membership management system BOn will be using going forward where members can create and register accounts, purchase and/or renew memberships yearly. There are many compliance factors that have been introduced (or tightening of ropes) recently, that our provincial organization must abide and be cognizant about. In Short, PlayerWeb is BOn’s solution towards the need to properly record individual member information for reporting and compliance with respect to waiver management.

To kick off the new year and halfway through our season, BOn is offering a 50% discount on BOn general memberships. The discounted BOn membership is now $12.50 and includes pickleball players. This incentive is to encourage our recreational players and seasonal players to affiliate with BOn and become insured and covered under sports accident and general liabilities. BOn also offers more benefits on top of that, please review the attached file for the list of benefits that you can take advantage of. The current BOn membership year is from September 1 to August 31.

You can register on your own now through PlayerWeb: https://playerweb.com/#!/memberships/badminton-ontario-2021-membership

Use discount code BON50OFF at checkout to receive this 50% discount.

Below are two links to YouTube to help guide you in creating PlayerWeb accounts:

  2. How to Renew BON Membership on PlayerWeb

The Board has decided to be affiliated with BOn and has been for many years and for several reasons, but specifically to obtain general liability, D&O and E&O coverage, and to provide Player Accident insurance to our membership along with the other benefits. Subsequently, for an affiliated club to be considered in good standing to receive these benefits all members must register with PlayerWeb for full compliance. BOn and the insurance provider reserve the right to revoke insurance coverage to clubs that do not have all members registered. In the future our membership model might be altered to include this fee, but until this time we appreciate your ongoing patience with the challenges and growing pains associated with this change. We hope our membership will cooperatively work with us to ensure full compliance as we move forward making this a mandatory process to play at the K-W Badminton Club.

Any player trying to register for a tournament in Ontario or a sanctioned Badminton Canada event that is using Badminton Tournament Planner to accept online entries must have a current and valid membership with BOn.
