March 4, 2015: BATL to begin operations in Kitchener, 69 Agnes St., home of the K-W Badminton Club

The K-W Badminton Club is pleased to announce that BATL (Backyard Axe Throwing League) will be leasing space in its 69 Agnes St. building to expand its popular and growing axe throwing sport and league play in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. After a short period of renovation and setup, BATL is expecting to begin operations within a few months.

The K-W Badminton Club, a non-profit organization, has been operating a dedicated facility at this location for 80 years, and purchased the building in November 2013. Since then, the club has been progressing to renovate the building (commonly known as the old “Granite Club”) to allow for other sport tenants, with the goal of creating a multi-sport facility for the community in the heart of Kitchener.

“We’re thrilled to soon be opening our fifth location in Kitchener Ontario, as part of our national expansion. The K-W Badminton building is ideal for our sport, and we look forward to opening for leagues and private events in early spring”, says Matt Wilson, Founder & CEO of BATL.
