K-W BADMINTON CLUB ADDS PICKLEBALL
FREE FOR SEPTEMBER 2014 (2 free sessions/person)

Press release: Aug. 22, 2014 (Kitchener, ON). The K-W Badminton Club (www.kwbadminton.com) is pleased to announce that this fall, we will be starting a comprehensive Pickleball program. We will be holding a free Open House on Tuesday September 9^th at our building at 69 Agnes Street in the city of Kitchener from noon to 3:00 PM. All current and prospective Pickleball players are invited to tour our facility and try out our dedicated indoor badminton courts. The K-W Badminton Club is a non-profit organization, in operation at 69 Agnes St. for 80+ years (commonly known as the old Granite Club).

OUR CLUB OFFERS THE FOLLOWING

• A dedicated indoor facility built expressly for badminton (and of course ideal for Pickleball)
• 6 wood gym floor courts (4 available for Pickleball), newly resurfaced as of August/2014
• Men’s and Ladies change rooms with lockers and showers
• Main floor and upstairs lounge with small kitchen off upstairs lounge
• Available 52 weeks of the year
• Pickleball paddles available to borrow for trial participants

FEE SCHEDULE FOR PICKLEBALL (introductory pricing)

• Cash at the door: $5.00 for one session (HST included)
• 10 single session coupons: $35.00 (HST included)
• 25 coupons: $80.00 (HST included)
• 50 coupons: $115.00 (HST included)

PLAYING TIMES FOR PICKLEBALL

• Tuesday: 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM (beginning Sept. 16, 2014)
• Thursday: 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM (beginning Sept. 18, 2014)
• Monday, Wednesday and Friday: open for pickleball for members with keys (and their guests)
• Beginners are always welcome! Experienced novice coaching is available Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Note: dedicated indoor non-marking court shoes are required. No outdoor shoes allowed on the courts

The K-W Badminton Club has been an active part of the Kitchener-Waterloo sports scene for 80+ years. We look forward to carrying on that tradition with the addition of Pickleball to our regular badminton schedule. Badminton Club memberships start as low as $110 (4 months), or $240 for a week-day daytime use membership (9am to 4pm). Pickleball play times are included for free with all badminton memberships.

The K-W Badminton Club is a non-profit organization located at 69 Agnes St. in Kitchener (formerly the Granite Club). The club has played badminton at this location for over 80 years. The club purchased the building November 2013, and is actively renovating the remainder of the facility to introduce new sports and organizations, creating the K-W Multi-Sport Centre.
