This purchase will allow for much needed future growth for the Badminton Club in the newly acquired additional space, as well as the introduction of other sports and community programming. The vision of a multi-sport facility in the Kitchener core has received endorsement from neighbourhood organizations and the City of Kitchener.

“We are very excited to begin extensive renovations to the building, so that we can create a multisport centre that serves the community and region”, said Brad Clarke, President of the K-W Badminton Club. With the purchase now complete and possession of the property on November 29th, the club expects to begin major repairs and renovations in the first six months of 2014.

“The Cherry Park Neighbourhood Association has long recognized the value of the K-W Badminton Club within our Community”, said Shirley Gosselin, President of the local CPNA group. “The club’s plan to purchase the property and rebuild new facilities for badminton and additional sports is an asset for our community and a good use of the property”, added Shirley.
